My name is Julie and I am a plus size marathon runner.
When I first took up running I felt incredibly alone, like I didn't fit in, like people who looked like me shouldn't or couldn't run. But over time I found my feet and started writing about my experiences.
Turns out there are a heap of us who feel like this.
So I am on a mission to get 1 million women running, women who want to be part of something bigger than just running, a movement where no body is left behind because of their size, their health, their age, their background, their sexuality, their personal circumstances...where we are all united by our desire to run.
If you are looking for inspiration, motivation and accountability then this is the group for you.
We have runners of all shapes and sizes (you don't have to be overweight) and women at every point of the running spectrum from beginners to ultra marathons.
The idea behind Too Fat to Run isn't just about being an online running club, its about creating a community that support each other offline too.
Down the line we will be organising local meet ups, and local training groups, led by our fully qualified Too Fat to Run licenced coaches.
And for our 10 year anniversary, which is November 2020...I have something MASSIVE planned (excuse the pun)
I would like to say a massive thank you to each and every member of The Clubhouse ( the first version of this community) those 300 or so women have been a lifeline to me.
It never fails to surprise me how awesome women can be when they support one another.
Just watch what we create together here.
